Tuscarora formations in southern Pennsylvania. A relatively new company, Zone’s operations are based on the data and knowledge that its founders have acquired over a 25-year period through a number of predecessor entities including Berea Oil & Gas, Somerset Exploration, CNGD, and Ashtola Production.

With over 100 prospects generated from an extensive library of 2-D seismic and subsurface data, Zone is actively acquiring leases in Fayette, Somerset and Westmoreland counties, Pennsylvania. At the end of 2007, Zone had 30,000 acres either secured or pending. In addition, Zone is undertaking several 3-D seismic projects and intends to lease an additional 30,000 acres for future drilling and development.

Zone’s management has extensive oil and gas industry experience, with deep expertise in successfully exploring the Oriskany formation throughout the Pennsylvania and West Virginia regions of the Appalachian Basin.
